Mobius session to support emergence through loving support to a team member in 2020.

Compassion is unconditional love that seeks to increase the wellbeing of others in ways that can spark agile and emergent collaboration to solve problems of planetary proportions. It took me many years to realize the strong grip that fear has on my heart.

One day, in the midst of a stretch of several stressful months, I realized that form the momento I got up every day  almost all of my decisiones were motivated by fear of something happening or not happening. As I deepened in y meditation practices, my fear was significantly reduced, and I started to feel as though I had lost my source of motivation. It was round about this time that I had the opportunity to travel to Bhutan and it was there in a conversation with Nipun Mehta that I heard for the first time that compassion can me a motivator for action.

I have since had the enormous privilege to deepen my understanding of compassion by volunteering with his organization, Service Space. Time and time again I have found myself filled with overflowing with gratitude after receiving multifaceted loving gifts of many sorts in ways that have really kindled a strong desire to act from love in my own life. What I have learned is that organizations rooted in compassion have one main principle, which is to build a network of noble relationships based on small acts of loving kindness and that this kind of network can act in an instant with decentralized actions our of which emerge unplanned holistic solutions.

Service space inspired me to contribute towards creating Mobius to bring this way of  being to Latin America. Mobius is a loving living lab that holds space for a compassionate community that learns by supporting leaders with various experiments  in how to transform systems by nurturing the transformation of the people within those systems. Truly living compassionately will be a life-long aspiration that I work on everyday. Every stumble - and there are many - is an opportunity to practice self compassion:)
